FAQs

What is Veil Con?

Veil Con is a cosplay focused convention celebrating anime, fantasy, and gaming culture, bringing together creators, performers, vendors, and fans for a day of immersive experiences.

Why is it called Veil Con?

The definition of "veil" - something that serves to cover, conceal, or disguise is similar to how in cosplay we step into a new identity and appear as someone (or something) else.

It also refers to a face covering, which ties into our OC, Veil, who is often seen wearing one!

Why is Veil Con 18+?

The main reason Veil Con is 18+ is simply because having minors at the event adds another layer of liability and responsibility that we wanted to avoid, especially for our first year.

We also wanted to create an adult only convention environment where attendees can socialize and enjoy the event with other adults. It isn't because Veil Con is an NSFW/adult-themed convention or anything like that, it is mainly an operational decision!

Is the Venue accessible?

The main floor is accessible via the street entrance. The upper and lower floors are only accessible by stairs.

Please let us know about any accessibility needs and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Is there a dress code? How revealing can cosplay be?

Veil Con is an 18+ event, but it is not an NSFW event. Revealing and adult-themed cosplay is permitted as long as reasonable coverage appropriate for a public event space is maintained. Explicit nudity is not permitted, and Veil Con staff may ask attendees to adjust or cover an outfit if necessary.

Can I bring outside food and drinks?

Yes! Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks into Veil Con. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the event.
